Our approach is that Strategic Decision Making mainly concerns itself with three main themes, namely

  1. To provide direction (decide what business the organization should be in)
  2. To ensure organizational resilience
  3. To enable sustainability (i.e. to provide the resources and create the environment for operations to be sustainable, i.e to resource and anable good tactical decision making)

The video above concerns itself mainly with the resilience theme.

Request your FREE copy of an ebook discussing Decision Making in Organizations

We also discuss strategic decision making in the context of other types of organizational decision making in organizations in the FREE framework of organizational decision making we make available.  We do this because we believe that any one type of decision making in an organization can only be successful if integrated with all other relevant types of decision making.  In particular, we always look at the interaction between strategic, tactical and operational decision making skills.  These have different but related goals, and they need to be developed in sync for any organization to excel as a whole.
