Online Services
All our online services has the objective to support professional knowledge workers.  The knowledge economy has a number of very important required skills and competencies.  Many of these required skills
  1. are not directly acquired during education, or where they are acquired, the acquired theoretical knowledge is not easily applied to practical situations
  2. are costly, and often career-limiting, to learn by experience (from the mistakes you make)
  3. provide intangible ways to out-perform others consistently
Our online services help you bridge this gap.
  • Organizational Decision Making Courses  ( 2 items )
Good Decision Making Skills is arguably the most important asset that any knowledge worker can have.  Van Thinking offers a number of online courses to assist you in up-skilling your decision making ability.  These courses take into account that you are very busy, and also maintain a heavy focus on being practical and interactive even though they are offered online.

We arrange live, interactive webinars on specific subjects. You need to have broadband access to the internet, and a headset with a microphone to get the best value out of these webinars.
  • Email Courses  ( 5 items )

The Email Courses are conducted by sending you a series of emails containing the course material over a period of time at regular intervals.  These courses can be viewed as directed reading on the subjects they cover. They provide you with a short introductory overview of the subjects they cover, and you will not only be knowledgable about what some of the main isuues are at the end of these courses, but you will also be provided with references to the seminal leading books and articles on the subjects where appropriate.

While the email courses are not interactive in nature, some of the paid-for email courses make provision for optional interaction with other participants in the course, and sometimes also with the course fasilitator.  We offer both free and paid-for email courses.

  • Apply to Participate  ( 3 items )

You can apply online for any of our online courses. All the application forms for our various online courses are found here. Since all the courses require a human interaction, we cannot take unlimited people at any given time. For that reason we work on a two-step process for participation where you apply first, and then after we communicate that you are accepted for the course you make the payment to finalise your acceptance for participation. The process is described below in more detail:

    1. Complete an application form, to which Van Thinking will respond via email.
    2. Pay upon acceptance for the requested service to ensure that you are given access to the online service.
    3. Note that most of our online services have specific start dates, which require that you pay in advance to register for participation, but participation only starts on the start date.
    4. If payment does not take place within the specified period (which will be supplied by email), we assume that you are no longer interested, andthe space becomes available to someone else again. We make the payment period etc. available via email after you aplication is accepted.
  • Specialised Subject Knowledge Courses  ( 3 items )

In the past we used to have too little information (often too late). Currently, due to the developments in information technology and the dominance of the knowledge economy, we are often inundated with too much information, so that our knowledge about any particular subject can be hampered by too much information. This necessitates specialisation in order to remain ahead of others, but also leads to a lack of having a broad generalist overview of relevant subjects.

The best way to engage this reality is to be involved in continuous learning, both to keep up with new developments and to broaden your horizon. We offer courses in specialised subjects with these goals in mind.

We couple this with courses in Thinking Skills, because those are paramount to be able to make sense of the flood of information we are bombarded with - to extract more meaning from information we need to think about it better than others do. Have a look at our courses in Thinking Skills as well.

All our courses are a mix of excellence in academic knowledge and practical application in typical knowledge-rich organisations. We focus on developing those thinking skills we believe unlock most value in this area.

All our courses are a mix of excellence in academic knowledge and practical application in typical knowledge-rich organisations. We focus on developing those thinking skills we believe unlock most value in this area.

Why should you consider doing our online courses?

They are interactive and facilitate real discussion.  Most online courses provide you with information, but lack the personal touch.  Our courses combine the benefit of doing the course at your own venue and in yourown time with the personal attantion of a live presenter that responds and enters into discussion with you online re4garding the course material and how to apply it to your environment.
